But if you want something temporary they offer also clip in dreads and even custom wigs with them incorporated so you can access to an instant look without compromising your hair. They can be done in all colours by request (solid, striped, blends or transitions of colors), so the result is up to your imagination.  Issy Love is making also some lovely dread wigs too.

They also accept custom orders, I'm completely in love with this custom-made silver wig

Neirahda: viking and celtic inspired ornaments

Above: Viking inspired pendant with dragon motif

Neirahda  is a store run by crafter Cristina Sánchez from Cuenca, Spain featuring handmade ornaments and jewellery featuring pagan, Celtic and viking motifs and patterns and using polymer clay to mimic carved stones, they really look like old relics. Spirals, runes, triskelions and other elements found in Norse and Celtic mythology render a lovely collection for the lovers of Ancient times.

Above: One of my favorites:  Newgrange stone pendant has been made of polymer clay, imitating the texture of real stone. I love this one, for any reason it reminds me to the Mystics of The Dark Crystal, my favorite movie :)

We have sculpted every piece by hand and they have been painted with acrylics, metallic paint and glass varnish.

above: handmade leather bracelet because there are also other complements listed on a regular basis at the store. :)

You can also like and network with the crafter at  Neirahda facebook so you can see "already sold" products in their gallery just in case you want to order a custom piece similar to one that's sold.

Fairy wings for your dolls and also for you! :)

Charlotte is a wing-maker, she makes really lovely fairy wings that you can see at her etsy store "Fairy wings and  fantasy things". The wings are made  out of fusible film from doll-size (which seems to be her passion as she is also a doll-maker) to  children or large adult wearable ones. I particularly liked her "sprite model" pictured at the beginning of this article. She tends to combine colours in gradient which I particularly like, with some iridescent and ragged looking elements. Some models even wear gears (close to steampunk) or flower embellishments.  Each pair of wings is unique and one of a kind and custom made so there are never two that are exactly the same. Thus you must allow the crafter for two weeks if you have a special commission or order though she keeps in stock some "ready to go" gorgeous examples.

IN THE MIST: from a CD cover to real cosplay and videoclip

Above: me from the cover I painted for my album The Underliving to a cosplay version of myself for the video

Hi everyone, Priscilla Hernandez speaking here :) yes, I'm also the admin of this blog and for once I'm making an entry about myself and my work. Why? Because I hope you find it inspiring :) and the post is about "fantasy costumes" too :). In this time I transformed myself into the cover of my own album, in fact several stores and crafters previously featured in yourfantasycostume have contributed with their skills to achieve so :)So as some of my readers know aside of keeping this blog I am also a performer and singer-songwriter  and illustrator and I specialize in fantasy music.

Most of my headpiece was made with locks made of  whiteyarn coming from Woodland Wild previously featured in this blog (thanks Briony, they worked perfectly! :) Additional hair extensions  in white and silver courtesy of Puppy Cat Meow were mingled

Make up, hair and stylism was in charge of Alassie from El Costurero Real also previously featured in yourfantasycostume.

you can watch the final result and videoclip here:

and a BEHIND THE SCENES with some hints about the makeup and hair stylism here

Folkowl: Gorgeous Hand felted faerie and pixie wear

Folk owl is a store based in UK run by crafter and designer Angela Shannon. And what can I say? Is there anything more pixie faerie natural and wild looking than these awesome magically inspired pieces. I'm not talking lightly, I try to make my own felted crafts from time to time, and this makes me feel like a total failure :)

Above: elf cape, getting this in Woodland colors... so excited! Love the standing ruff! :)

The designs sometimes are so simple and so clever, not to polished, a bit ragged, wild looking they look like naturally made out of  fairy hands. :) Also many of the accessories like scarfs and gloves are perfect for urban pixies too when venturing out of the forest.  She was raised close to an enchanted forest in England herself so nourished from a privileged nature to inspire her with the fallen lives and the wind haunting songs.

The collection deliver also a eco-friendly edgy style, in fact the items describe the use of ethically sour and it's not only useful for fantasy costumes but also for daily wear. At least for those free-spirited daring fairies like me :)

Another of my favorite items, the tattered scarfs, perfect for an autumn fairy or even dryad dress.

In several colors and shapes. I particularly like one snowy white they had. Looked very wintery and wolf-like :) But no autumn no winter? are you maybe a spring fairy? even so you'll find lovely things  as perfect fit :)

Above: felted  pixie gloves. Many models availables. The cuffs corset close at the backs using felted ties adorned with handmade felt leaves. The cuffs are therefore fully adjustable to most average hand sizes.

She tends to make lots of thing in lines of very earthy tones, greens and browns so many of the accessories seems to combine

And going with accessories look at this fairy bags! !!!!!!!!!!!!

I love their ancient look, look at that rustic wooden button, :) and  for any reason the one above remind me to the Mystics from my favorite movie THE DARK CRYSTAL. It is very froudian some how and I love that.

There are also some hip belts with pouches and even more, hoodies, even full winter coats, and I'm sure if you have something in mind Angela will be pleased to know about it to make it done ! :)

Oh yes this article is a bit pic-heavy :) I know. That is because I was like wanting every single thing I was finding with greediness :) So I spent my while surfing all items and I was delighted, that´s the word, and inspired too :)

You can also network with the designer by liking them in Folkowl in facebook  so you can also see some of the already sold products in their portfolio gallery just in case you want to commission a similar piece if it's not listed or sold.

Edit/Update :) Angela, the crafter from Folk Owl was kind enough to send us a courtesy green felted green cape :) so I'm happy to post here a picture of myself wearing it :). I really saw with my own eyes how pretty and vivid the green was :) <3 it. Thank you.

Raven Eve Jewelry: Awesome Art Nouveau Headdresses

Aww what an amazing discovery! :)

Raven Eve Jewelry is a store based in Detroit (USA) that features an awesome collection of dramatic looking fantasy headpieces and wesome Art Nouveau Head pieces, that look as if they're out of Mucha´s painting (one of my favorite illustrators). They look so rich in detail and so well done, if you are a lover of this style and have a romantic nostalgia for Mucha´s paintings you're going to love this.

And not only that... but also ear cuffs and other jewelry.  including the most amazing brass nail-rings, they look so  wild, perfect for  the Sorceress,  Dragon, Vampire or Werewolf alter ego.

Aww Didn´t I mention like a trillion times that "labyrinth" is one of my favorite movies? Here´s a gorgeous  ear cuff piece made of brass filigree with  chains and glass beads, inspired in Sarah hair Jewelry during the Ball Room scene

Barefoot sandals for free-spirited dancing fairy feet

Above: barefoot sandal with shells, I think it's very "mermaid" like

Mojo´s Free Spirit is a shop run by crafter Moriah Jones that specializes in hemp barefoot sandals and shoes. Most of the time you dress as a fairy or sprite you don't know what to use as footwear or simply opt for going barefoot.  I highlight this store not only because they're already finished and ready to go sandals are pretty for this purpose but also as inspiration. Can you imagine a fairy running in the fields with some pair of hideous shoes? Most likely you imagine something light and ethereal and free-spirited... so there it is. I think they are also great for dancers and bellydancers to drive attention to the movement of your feet while you dance.

And not only for girls, they also have some lovely tribal looking models for him too :)

And also some ethereal white models for alternative weedings

C´mon and when going to the beach or to the forest experience the ground you trod on, might be magical! And if you happen to have pretty feet they're also very sexy :)

If you want to commission any piece you can contact the crafter directly at mojofreespirit@gmail.com

They also offer discount for multiple items folder.

But it's not only about sandals and shoes, they also make feather earrings and extensions and lots of pretty accessories to go along with them ;-)

With just a few materials like a glue gun, super glue, rhinestones and some shiny silvery glittering nail varnish, over a cast of your face or a full face mask as mold, this easy to follow and really simple tutorial will delight all Snow Queens out there. Crystalline, ethereal and glittering :) <3 <3 best part, affordable and easy to make! :)

This is a great addition to the article we made about Snow Queen previously here in your fantasy costume. I'm going to try it myself so I will try to post my result as soon as I can manage to make one.

For more tips and tricks you can see their KLAIREDELYS blog to see more details about this particular mask:http://www.klairedelys.com/2012/12/18/diy-masquerade-mask-ice-queen/ Her blog is really interesting for other tutorials and make up/beauty tutorials and reviews :) She has some awesome  fantasy makeup videos in the channel so feel free to check her blog and videos. Venetian masks by "MASK VENECIAN"

Mask Venecian  is the lovely store and collection of lovely paper, metal and feather venetian masks made by crafter Laura Martín. Website is in spanish but its navigation is super friendly and you can have not only a delightful view of all the galleries of maks available (lace, feather, paper, traditional, filigree) but also even to learn about the different names and types of Venetian masks. It really shows the crafter is a devoted of the  Venetian Carnival and the catalogue is really amazing. So even if you just want to make a research surfing to the site, I highly recommended. Elegant, sophisticated, and some models delightfully decadent... A must addition to our previous article bout the Carnival of Venice.

I was lucky enough to be gifted one of her pretty models in white :) Here is myself wearing a metal white filigree mask I think they are laser-cut, not sure.  It looks so wintery. I love it :). By the way the crown I'm wearing is courtesy of Freckles Fairy Chest previously featured in yourfantasycostume

THE HOBBIT movie premiere in Barcelona and cosplay gathering (me included)

So yesterday finally THE HOBBIT movie premiered in the whole world and me and a group of spontaneous friends here in Spain gathered in BOSC DE LAS FADES (a fairy pub in Barcelona, Spain) dressed as hobbits and elves and other lotr characters to have fun and then head to the movie (thanks Vany for the ticket! it was like a pre-birthday little celebration).  I guess this kind of scenes repeated in different points of the geography but we were proud to be among the brave ones to go to the film  all dressed up in our lotr garments.

Also that I didn't like some changes from the book but other points that people critic that are not in the movie and actually right and explained in THE LORD OF THE RINGS appendix, so before complaining of certain "invented" things that are not so, I suggest a reading of those again.

So here are some photographies and snippets of how much fun we had! :) All photographies are (c) of Héctor Corcín (thank you)

me as Galadriel (sort of LOL) Cloak and crown self-made. Gown by The Dark Angel

Elves: at my right designer Alassie from El Costurero Real she made her own garment, cloak and crown
